Fab Finds below PHP1500.00

Pin It Now!

I've been quite lazy these days to blog. Though there are a lot of things I really got busy with. I plan to post something about one of the stuff that I got busy with soon. It's quite a long post though. Anyway, I managed to have the extra energy to blog about something I really want to do tonight-so here goes..

I love reading magazines though buying magazines can be costly. You can however save if you would subscribe yearly but the downside of that is that if you are like me who only buys magazine because of catchy coverlines and fabulous covers, then it won't be practical for you to subscribe. Usually, the topics that make me buy a magazine are those that promises to reveal make-ups that you can buy at a certain budget. Sadly, after opening the magazine- I felt duped.

Yes, they feature beauty products but most of them PHP1000 per product. For an average working class Filipina- how much can we actually spend each 15day-salary for make-up? If a good foundation, lipstick, mascara and blush costs PHP1000.00 each and one can only afford PHP1000.00 every 15 days to spent on make-up, how long would it take before she gets to complete the basic set? Two months.

Don't get me wrong, I still do get to buy some high-end brands from time to time whenever I get my quarterly bonus but I never buy them on the whim.

I do work in a mall and I actually observe people too. Whenever I see salesladies in full make-up ( a very basic requirement which is part of their uniform), I often wonder how much they spend on make-up after all the deductions. I do admire a lot of them though, despite the fact that they have lesser take home pay-they still manage to buy make-up that actually looks of good quality. It's quite easy to buy but to find a real bargain-that's hard. What I'm talking about is finding products that are really value for money. Products that are affordable but delivers.

Another thing that bothers me sometimes is that magazines just put all the products or "finds" in one page and you can't really find any review. Reviews that are actually quite useful so that the reader won't be left wondering if these "finds" were really tried and tested. I guess it's one of the main reasons why Youtube Gurus and Beauty Bloggers are getting the big number of hits. With all these said, I still do read magazines for fashion and articles especially profiles on my favorite celebrities.

A Simple Everyday Look below PHP1500

One of my favorite shows on TV was actually the show "Looks for Less"- the one hosted by ANTM Cycle 2 Winner Yoanna House wherein they look for runway looks and try to look for a cheaper/more affordable version of that look. I wish that could be applied to make-up as well. So, I tried it out and came up with products for a complete look that I think are worth my every penny for the price of PHP1500. One can actually call them "dupes" for branded and highend products.

1. In2It Sheer Shimmer Blush in SB05 Apricot Pearl - PHP298 (purchased at a 10% discount)

What I like about this blush is that it gives the right color without too much shimmer and pretty long lasting. Also, when I got this one out of the package, I accidentally dropped it on my bedroom's tiled floor but the packaging didn't break nor did the blush cracked-but of course I'm not
gonna advise anyone to just drop it freely. LOL.

2.Ever Bilena Famous Line in Peppery Pink at PHP 160.00

This one is only PHP160 but I so love the shade! It gives the a natural pink lips
that doesn't look too bright.

3. In2it BB Brightening 2-Way Foundation in BSF 01 Nude at PHP549.75

I just ran out of foundation after I broke my Bonjour Dual Face Powder. I have been using In2it for 5 years already and they came up with a new product.  This powder is formulated in such a way that
it brightens your skin but still maintains it's silky and sheer quality. As you can see above,
my skin actually looks brighter especially when I applied the foundation with a damp sponge.

4. Tony Moly Baby Doll BB Makeup Base in Violet - PHP398

I have been using this product since late last year and I really love it. Aside from the fact that it's cheap,
it really does even out my skin tone without leaving it oily or very dry.

TOTAL OF:  PHP 1405.75
It's a good thing that these products lasts for 3-5 months.

Notice why I haven't included eye make-up? In my opinion, if you want to wear eye-makeup you must be ready to shell out more than PHP1500. Though there are a lot of eye-make up that are quite cheap, but I just think that with eye make-up you not only need to spend for a lash Curler for mascara, mascara and eyeshadow for eyeliner and of course eye make-up remover because soap and water just won't do. However, I'd be posting some finds on eye make-up as well soon.

These are just my personal opinion. I'm not in anyway paid by any of these brands to promote for them. There are after all different strokes for different folks. What works for me might now work for you or vice versa. I hope some people reading this post would find it amusing or informative. Infinite xoxoxo
